My build week is 8 and i havent spoke to the dealers for about 2 months so i decided to them a call today. Imagine my excitement when all i was expecting was an update and he tells me his system is showing my car as built, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!. So now can anyone tell me i long it should take to get from the factory to our lovely little island????? He was saying something bout a back log getting them on the boats. Apperently this was to do with bad weather. Think im getting pissed tonight now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As for shipping.... likely to be about a week then a few days for your dealer to prep the car. Not long now though so hang in there!

Mine too is BW8. I was told today that it's built & is due to be shipped to Germany on Saturday. Not sure how long it'll take from Germany, but I'm guessing it should be in the Uk within 2 weeks. All going well, I'm hoping to collect it on the 19th March.

Gone for white. I was originally going to go for black, but couldn't stomach the wait, so switched to a white one as the dealer already had one on order.

I have to say, since seeing a few pics on forums, you've made a great choice. In the right light, i looks absolutely amazing!

I'd imagine ours cars will be shipmates, fingers crossed there's no hitches in the delivery process.

I'd be gutted mate if something held it up now like the ship sinking or something daft lol, fingers crossed though everything will be fine and our little scirocco brothers will be here soon

Hopefully mine will e sailing with yours too, BW8....however, I checked with my dealer yesterday and it was at stage 3 out of 8, which is something to do with the panels being put on the chasis, think i'll call the dealer again tomorrow for an update

I reckon you need the Scirocco to be past Check point 5ish (After build stages) tomorrow morning and at the dockside by early afternoon on Friday, to make the ship this week on Saturday @ 01:30 to port of Emden. Going to be a very close thing.
Then ship transfer to either Sheerness, Grimsby or Tyne around 03/04.03.10. Into the UK 04/05.03.10 if turnarounds are all quick. Dealer should have all this to hand in the system and be able to tell you better date info.

Thanks for the info RW1, that all means the car could be at the dealers in a weeks time Didn't get a chance to call them today, but i'll be giving my salesman a call first thing to get an update. I was expecting another 3 weeks or so, but looks like it might be on me drive in 2 weeks

My dealer also told me VW are standing the extra VAT on my R eventhough i won't get it until March, which I'd conceded I'd be paying!!

I checked after work, so about 5.30pm. Salesman checked the system then and it said production complete (or something to that effect)......Im on my knees praying right now it's on that ship. He also told me it'll be coming from Grimsby but doesn't think it'll be here until week after next, but i think and hope from what you're saying RW1, it'll be here end of next week

Can't see any more ships after the one thats just sailed until late next week. And that one isn't confirmed yet.
Grimsby and 10days -ish to dealers eh? Sound like its on the African Highway. She'll be passing Lisbon at 07:00 - 10:00 later today, heading north.
