Scirocco R coming, GTX needs home.

Postby Chapel » 08 Feb 2010 00:20

Hi, my new Scirocco R is due to arrive late March to replace a much beloved, and extensively uprated, MK 2 GTX, and I need to find a home for this wonderful car to make space, It has a 2.1 litre engine + big valve head by Tim Stiles Racing giving it a power-to-weight ratio approaching that of the new R, fully adjustable Koni suspension, extensively uprated brakes, and just about every mechanical upgrade you can think of, all in excellent condition and with a fine body in Mars red. The problem is that parts of the chassis need the attention of a welder with skills and facilities which I don't have - either that or I need to find a home for its many desirable components. Can anyone out there help with contacts or suggestions? It would be a crime to simply scrap it.

Thanks for these 3 replies: Latif, if only I had storage space I certainly would keep it, and maybe in the future I'd have the spare cash to fix the chassis (it would need some dismantling to do a proper job and it's not really practicable if you have to pay a professional). Evil Derboy, unfortunately I can't post pictures using my primitive equipment: I only have internet access via a TV set-top box because my phoneline is so pathetic here in rural Northumberland that it's not worth buying a computer until they do something about it. And thanks Brunty for the Sciroccouk link - it was new to me and looks like it may be useful.
