New member to the Scirocco family

Well, not just yet… my Scirocco should HOPEFULLY arrive mid to end of May… :D
I now have to part from my trusty 56 reg Jetta 2.0 SE TDi to my new Rising Blue GT 2.0 TDi (140).

I went for a test drive last Saturday and within a mile or two of the test, I told the salesman we might as well turn back to the office and sign the papers.
After haggling with them for sometime, I managed to get £500 odd knocked off the list price and the VAT on the car and options calculated at 15% which adds to about another £500 saving. I added cruise control, rear parking sensors and flat tyre indicator from the options list.

As I do a lot of miles a year, about 27k, they offered me the service only plan for £21.64 per month. That’s about £780 for 3 years. My Jetta’s long life services were about £280 each time so in 3 years time with the mileage I do, they calculated 5 services totalling £1400. So this service plan looks like a good idea. I managed about 18k miles between services in the Jetta but the salesman said in the Scirocco it will be lower, about every 16k.

So all I can do now is wait in anticipation. At least I now have enough time to scroll through all the posts on this forum until the big day.

Have a great weekend everyone and thank you for all the great posts…

If he's like me, probably due to the fact that it's the thick end of a grand more expensive. And you can get a remap for half that if you fancy more power.

Hi everyone and thank you for all your comments.
Like Redmeat said the 140bhp is about £1000 cheaper than the 170bhp and the 140 was already pushing my budget. APS does a ECU upgrade for about £500 and this remap increases it to 170bhp.
They also claim that the MPG is unaffected, 55MPG combined, and a guarantee covers it for the remainder of the VW's warranty.
Does anyone know if the 140 & 170 are two different engines or are they exactly the the same but the 170 just has a VW remap?

Scoobs, the Newbie title I will wear with pride but I'm sure someone else will takes this from me very soon...

Jverdoes - when my petrol Scirocco went, I was on 16,000 miles, Indicator was showing 2500 miles to service, so I'm sure with motorway miles you should get the same fella

Just got off the phone with my dealer and the status of my GT is still "Order Confirmed".
 STILL NO BUILD DATE
Then he knocked another nail in the coffin by saying the delivery date should now be towards end of July and not May as previously estimated...
