Dodo Juice Purple Haze / Poorboys Black hole Results

Postby Evil Derboy » 14 Feb 2010 13:12

With the first dry (and not too cold) day for a while yesterday, I finally got a chance to give my Scirocco a bit of a monster detailing session and try out my new products from Autoperfection. What with the forum discounts and group buy available from them I thought you may interested in the results. It's been raining through the night so I really got a chance to see the beading action of the Purple Haze.

Quite frankly this is the best combination of products I have ever used on any car. The Poorboys is amazing and the shine achieved by using this alone is jawdropping. Add the Purple Haze on top and the overall finish is simply stunning. My photos really don't do it justice. The Purple Haze goes on beautifully; it's a nice oily wax which which gives great coverage using only a small amount of product. I found it took a wee bit of effort to fully buff off as you worked it into the paint but it's much better to use than most others I have tried. I am so pleased with both of these products.

My full regime yesterday for any detailing nuts that are interested:

Wheels
Meguiars hot rims
Wash
Meguiars NXT wash + Megs wash mitt
Dry
Turtle Wax ICE waffle weave
Polish
Megs Step One Crystal Polish
Glaze
Poorboys Black hole
Wax
Dodo Juice Purple Haze
Glass
Autoglym glass polish
Rubbers, Mirror and front grill plastics
Megs Gold Class trim detailer
Exhaust
Megs NXT Metal Polish
Interior
Autoglym Vinyl & Rubbercare
Leather
Gliptone Liquid Leather conditioner
Tyres
Meguiars Hot Shine Wet Look Tyre Spray

Click each pic to open it in a new window and then maximise it to see full size.

Comparison Shot - Compare the Scirocco with my wifes new Auris which was prepped by the dealer last Wednesday. Look at the difference in the water beading:

Good results there Evil. I hate it when i have just washed the car then it rains, just a couple of nice days is all i ask for. I have washed my car twice this weekend both when it was looking nice in the morning then it rained and its covered in shit again!

I know. It's real bummer when that happens. I spent about 5 hours on my car yesterday and then the rain comes. But at least it lets me see how good the beading effect of the wax is.

Looks superb. Have started collecting my polishing products. First item bought (with the guidance of the polishing guru, Scott) was Dodo mellow yellow wheel cleaner.

Looks good

notice the Drivers seat bolster is starting to look crease up already. Shame that these are gonna let the leather seat cars interior down after such a short while.

The leather Scirocco bolsters seem to do this I`ve noticed. See it a lot on autotrader etc and very low miles.
I reckon the bolster isn`t shaped like others as in a hump but instead its like a wall effect bolster so damage will happen very soon

PS unless ED is a large bloke these days

However car looking excellent Der

I had the same problem yesterday, I'd half dried the car and it began to drizzle... :problem: 20 minutes later I finished the job and gave it a quick polish (wax has been ordered), I managed a couple of photos before it started to rain again lol. Took a nice frosted beading shot this morning before wiping it down again ;)

My Audi TT was the same. This will sound weird but I think it has something to do with me keeping my wallet in my right side jeans pocket. Whenever it;s in my back pocket on that side I can feel it digging in more than when it's in the otherside.

Plus, I am quite a broad guy but I wouldn't say that I have a fat bum!

The car's looking stunning Evil!

Glad you got on well with the Black Hole/Purple Haze combo... it's one that we've been using for years and it does achieve particularly excellent results on black

All the best
