Candy white, kw v1 and a few other bits...

Post15 Sep 2012 10:55

Thought I would start one of these build threads off. Its a 2.0tdi 170 dsg 11 plate with full leather, sat nav and a few other extras. Bought it in Leeds and drove it back to Sunderland. Couldn't of been happier with it.

The car when I picked it up.

I bought it in january and straight away got sick of seeing exactly the same standard cars passing me so first of all I dropped it off at the local paint shop and had the front lower grill painted white, gloss black mirrors and the small lip on the back bumper done gloss black.

Image

Image

I also changed all the bulbs out for brighter white ones and leds for the interior due to how yellow the original bulbs were.

Image
Ive used my iphone to take the pictures so thats why they are crap quality and this photo I've used off a forum but cant remember where i got it from but its exactly the same set up.

Thats as far as Ive got for now, future plans are:

H&R ultralow coilovers (drops 50 to 80mm)
19's, not sure what to go for, maybe 3SDM 0.05s when there released later this year.
scirocco and 2.0tdi badge removal
VW badges gloss black

a few recent pictures...

I was after some H&R ultralow coilovers but with mine being a fatty diesel/ dsg it was too heavy :( .So I decided to go for some KW V1s instead. I got a good price from Revolution in gateshead so got them bought fitted and aligned there. Sorry for the cack pictures only got it done this afternoon so iphone special again!

Image

looks like its on stilts to this...

the rear is all the way down and the front has 20mm ish to go. left the front slightly higher to try out speedbumps to work and no problems so going to drop it a bit more when I get the chance. Looks loads better in the flesh! badges are getting done gloss black next week.

new wheels on and a few pics, 19" rotiform blq in lime green. its a bit in your face but better than the usual black wheels on a white car. Running them like this for a while. maybe get them re-done white during the winter or buy something different. Thoughts and opinions? good or bad.

Haha I like to take it easy so everyone gets a good look at it ;) I used to have a z4m coupe before the Rocco with 343bhp so even with a small upgrade with a remap it's still not going to compare! I'll leave it to you to strike fear in other motorists rear view mirrors :P

Right, this is the plan if they are released in 19s, excuse the crap photoshop skills! They havnt made any yet so its just a rendering. Watercooled ind cc10 cast wheels. Only making them in 18s at the moment. Will be available in 8.5j et 45 or 9.5j et35, hopefully the same when they make the 19. Concave wheels that dip in 4.5 inches. Not sure what colour to go yet. Probably white or anthricite. Thoughts and opinions?

What size are your rotiforms mate? And what profile tyres are you running on them?

I've just had some v1s installed and its rubbing like a good'un (inside edge of front tyres hitting arch liner at full lock) mines not even as low as yours either!

I didnt have any rubbing with the standard 18s but these rub on full lock but only very very slightly. they are 19x8.5 et 45 with 225 40 19s on. if i had 35s instead of 40s i dont think id be catching. Im lowered, 10mm off the stops on the front and 3mm off the stops on the back.generally dont have much bother with speedbumps either, just take a bit more care.

Got my mate to take a few pics of the car the other day, Black badges have been done now, next mod will probably be a slated grill to replace the honeycombe one then either keep the rotis and do them white or sell and buy some cc10s in white if they get released in 19s.

more pics to follow...

Just a little update to keep the thread alive...

cheers mate :D

Got a better audio install in. Nothing over the top just a lot better quality. Went with a shallow sub to still keep boot space.

Also put these pressed plates on I got a few year a go. Just wish I had went for plain black instead of carbon! They will do for now though.

Rotis were sold and now looking for some new wheels. Looks at some porsche twist splits but cant decide if 18s will be too small to pull off without air??

It's good to be different though haha! See I thought 18s were too small but I've seen a few noe and if its low enough I think it can pull them off maybe! Ill have to get some pictures up of how it sits now back on the standard wheels.
