If the seals coming away, I wouldn't continue, but I had no such problems getting the pannel's away. Perhaps a little WD40 around the seal might free it a little? Just remember to clean it away once your done!

Ok thanks for the tips I was just enquiring if you had any pictures you hadn't posted.

I managed to do this after a bit of fiddling

You're kidding me right? Them seats probably cost about £700-£1000 for both. (My estimate) then you can install them yourself for about £50. £3k - what a joke! They should be standard in the R.

Couldn't be further from the truth. If you want them new (without specing them), this is what you'd have to pay:

The Recaro's have always been an option right the way back to the MK5 Golf GTI. If you want them, VAG have got you over a barrel. Unless a second hand set come up and even then there often shagged.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't dream of paying >£3k for a set of seats, hence why I got them second hand at a very very fair price. To be honest, there probably in better condition than they would be if buying new with all the numpties that drag their selves over the bolsters at the docks and dealers.

I'm not sure why they've got the extortionate price tag. Probably just the 'scene' tax that's associated with them.

A chap on the central had them up for more than 3 months, but part of the deal was a set of leather fronts. Which is exactly where the second interior I picked up came in.

The car looks great. I had those seats in my R32 and loved them.

I'm think of getting the milltek system you have but I will be going cat back first. Are you pleased the system and the sound it gives now you have lived with it for a while? I have have a few milltek systems in the past and the R32 system had a really bad drone. Do you get that with the scirocco system?

Afternoon all,

It's been a while since I've updated this thread with the progress/modifications made on the car. Anyway here are a couple of photos of how the motor was sitting a couple of weeks ago (bar the interior), granted they were taken last year:

Since then, a few modifications have been implemented. Here’s how the car currently stands.

Interior:
- OEM Recaro's
- S2T performance paddles
- Cruise Control retrofit
- OEM bluetooth retrofit

Engine:
- Full non-res Milltek with GT100 tips
- Revo Stg 1

Chassis:
- VMR 710's (Hyper silver) with winter slippers (Michelin Alpin's)
- KW DCC Coil-overs with TT top-mounts
- Autotech rear ARB
- Superpro AntiLiftKit
- TT wishbones

Overview:

Interior:
- OEM Bluetooth getting fitted:

- OEM Recaro's:

In terms of future plans. I've got to replace the front grill (fhook off chip), get the VMR's refinished for summer (gunmetal or matt black, I haven't decided set), sort the KW's out once they've settled, possibly upgrade the fuel pump to either a Loba or APR unit (logs show some odd rail pressure fluctuations) and drive it.

I’ll get a few more photos once I’ve cleaned it.

Luke
