The Xenons sound good but dont you need headlamp washer jets? Every other car i have seen with Xenons have had the washers.

I was going to buy them the week before - I have the washer stuff already - but the OEM units alone are not enough - you would need to install a V shaped bracket to the suspension that tells the Automatic Headlight Range Control (Dynamic in the Scirocco) where to level the lights - Auto levelling is a legal requirement in the UK for Xenons.

Automatic Headlight Range Control

Believe me when I say if anyone would have retro-fitted Xenons by now then it would have been me - the units are an absolute bargain at £750 - as a UK dealer would charge in excess of £1200 but like I said there is a bit more to it.

I have spoken to a VAG specialist in full regarding this as VW dealers weren't really specialists in VAG components - he advised me not to proceed - he took down my cars no's (no just VIN) but a set of no.s that are printed on the service page - he entered those into his computer that connects to a VW system in Germany - from there he was able to tell me everything about the car - what was factory fitted and what could be retro fitted - for my car he said it's honestly not worth the hassle - as most of it eventually will come down to the electrical cabling in the car being changed - hence why every single VW dealer will say if you retro-fit HIDs it invalidates your electrical warranty - if not then all of your warranty on the car.

I'm not trying to put anyone off from buying this set from eBay - I have spoken to the guy on MSN and he is geniune, though his webcam he showed me the lights etc - all I'm saying is that if anyone wants to retro fit those then be prepared to pay a lot more than £800.

Finally more about the Xenons - produced by Valeo - European Products PDF - Scirocco products are on the last page of the PDF.

Rehmondo, i wouldnt absolutely believe what you are being told.

For a start the scirocco has all the self leveling equipment fitted, look under the car you will see them fitted at each corner. The car uses it for the brake bias, aswell as the for the ACC system. So you dont need to fit that.

From the wiring diagrams i've looked at it wont require any cabling either, just some connector changes at the lights.

I certainly don not believe its as hard as you are being led to believe. Dealers / Tech's who don't know tend to make up utter bollocks reasons as to why it cant be done, even if there is no truth. IMO

Would also probably be quicker than waiting for VW to build one....

I'd love too, but don't want to take the risk even though Roberto has reduced it from £750 to £510 for Xenons! - If I could just get someone who will be willing to get them to work.... everyone just fobs me off.
