New to this I have just bought a 59 plate scirocco and neither sidelights work this comes up on the MFD, I have checked the bulbs and they work fine, everything else works fine just the sidelights, anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Thanks in advance

Are the bulbs LEDs?

If so try normal incandescent bulbs and see if those work.

The circuit is monitored and if the current is not within the normal parameters for a 5W bulb then the control module will shut the circuit down.

Sounds as if the circuit is shit down and needs resetting. If you have access to VCDS reset it. If not then disconnecting the battery may reset it.

Note if you do decide to disconnect the battery the steering and ESP warning lights will stay on until the Carbis driven a few hundred yards to recalibrate the steering angle sensor.

It was bought from a dealership and they delivered it as I hadnt passed my test but it was booked and it was the car I wanted but he said he thought it was the bulbs and I didn't really think anything of it at the time

Well rather than messing about I would get in touch with the dealership and have them fix it.

No way should a dealership deliver a car with a fault. Even if it had been just the bulbs, they should have replaced them. Now you've confirmed it's not the bulbs, then get back in touch with them and have it fixed.

For future reference, if someone says something is a simple fix then ask yourself if it was that simple why has it not been fixed then.
