this is a handy tip for 2.0tsi owners with chrome exhaust trim, while washing my car the other day i decided to clean the black soot that i seem to be plauged with from my chrome exhaust trim with car polish and it seemed to work ok, next time i cleaned the exhausts the soot came off with just a wipe from a damp cloth with very little effort :thumbup:

I suppose the polish must be putting a wax residue on the exhaust making it harder for the grime to stick to it. Good idea. I wonder if Alloy wheel polish would work even better?

Yeh, I use my chemical guys wheel guard. Its designed to stop the brake dust becoming engrained in the alloys. It basically forms a barrier so net time you are cleaning the wheels the brake dust just wipes off. does exactly the same on the exhaust trim. Great job, well worth a purchase for the wheels and the exhaust IMHO! :thumbup:
