Hello everyone :) my first post..... a noob!

Does any know anything about the boost control system on the Scirocco 2.0 TFSi DSG? I've just bought one, picking it up early next week :)

I've been modifying my Evo's for several years now, I've got to a stage where I can map myself and know the ECU's inside out... However, I'm a complete VW virgin! Has anyone managed to track down a service manual/ECU wiring diagram?! What ECU and CPU are used?! I'm keen to learn

I'm thinking about putting an Apexi AVC-R in and taking control of boost, has anyone ever tried?! The apexi system was originally developed by Honda back in the F1 turbo era! and is incredibly powerful when setup correctly.

For this embryonic idea to work, the Scirocco would need to have:
1. A throttle position sensor - hopefully 0-5v linear
2. An RPM output something similar in form to a Subaru/Honda/Mitsi etc... etc...
3. A Speed pulse, again similar in form to a typical Japanese car
4. Dependent on how the fueling system communicates - it should be possible to monitor injector duties too? On a jap car you simply splice into an injector output from the ECU...

Any advice/guidance or pointing in the right direction would be appreciated,

Theres a couple of VW dealers on here, they might be able to 'borrow' some tech info?

Any chance the ecu will be the same as any other from the VW range?

Hey j3llyh34d,

With the car being so new I don't think anyone has really tried this on a roc yet as far as i'm aware. A few guys have had remaps done but i reckon your best bet for installing an apexi set up is to check out a few of the mk5 golf gti forums. There must be a big power golf out there with this kind of thing installed.

good luck, let us know how you get on ;)

I'm not technical at all and this is a total foreign language but this is what I've managed to find out.

1. Yes it has this
2. We don't know about this
3. Yes it has this however....
4. Yes anything can be monitored but

The current VW range runs on a CAMBUS system. This means none of this stuff is as simple as the Jap cars you are used to. My best advise is to go to a specialised electrical contractor such as halls electrical or motor mods as these are the people that know how all this stuff works. Our techies are not trained in this sort of modification.

To give you an example I had a taxi driver in recently who we sold a passat to. He wanted to put his meter onto the cars speed pulse wire. This ended up requiring a CAMBUS unit and professional fitting at a cost of £103+vat for the unit and 2 1/2hrs labour. Total bill £176. On his old passat he just did it himself.

Needless to say replacing computer parts will definately invalidate your warranty, this is going a bit further than a standard remap that technically invalidates warranty but in practise gets ignored.
