connected this morning then froze... hasn't worked since. :roll:

Tried resetting both the Radio to factory settings and restoring the iPod, it's still not having any of it.
the iPod still recieves power and charges from the MDI cable and as thats just a piece of wire i fail to see how the cable could be the problem.
Car just displays... No device / blanks out the Media-in button on the touch screen.

Anybody else got any ideas?

Got this info off trusty SXOC :clap: my other frequented forum:

There is a known problem with the i-pod connectors in the cars. I have changed god knows how many on the golfs and suspect this could be the same fault mate.
I think your dealership should have them in stock and will be aware of the fault as i know we are. Im a mechanic for volkswagon btw! Cheers Aj

Got a free replacement cable in the end. :clap:

Though now when i put the ipod in i hold the connector down at the same time to make sure it doesn't wobble about as i think thats what happened last time.

thank god it wasn't the connector in the car.
