I'm picking up my car on Thursday and I want to treat the alloys to protect them from brake dust etc. VW recommends "Hard Wax" (not normal car polish) - I'm not sure what hard wax is! Any recommendations?
The best in the market place is "chemical guys" "wheel guard". This is a spceifically designed wheel wax, ideally on new, or if not super clean wheels. Once applied provides a protective layer between the wheel and the brake dust etc particulants. After 2-3 coats wheels are cleaned with a simple wipe. My recommendation................
I lifeshined my car myself and used the same sealant that is provided for the paint on my alloys with superb results, no more scrubbing and never had to use anything other than a damp cloth. You can buy the whole kit for £15 on e bay.
I will look out for the above products when I get my Candy White GT in June. However, the greatest threat to my alloys is me kerbing them if my previous experience is anything to go by!
