Hi guys, is it just my appauling driving or do you find the Scirocco isn't the greatest in the snow, I found it behaves more like a rear wheel drive like a Beemer (odd?). My previous Golf was pretty sturdy in the Snow...

Guess I'm saying this after I almost went straight into the rear of a clapped out Punto who decided to stop in the middle of the road at Rush Hour, just the idea of my beautiful front end getting mangled has shook me up a bit

Not had any problems with mine, put it into comfort mode and take it easy on the throttle, at the end of the day it doesnt matter what car you have on the snow, they all sit on four tyres, and all can skid / slide / slip all over the place if not driven with care, the amount of people who get into there expensive cars and think, because it cost X amount of pounds it will be alright on snow and ice is unreal, at the end of the day, snow is a great leveller, it always makes me smile when i see an X5 in a ditch, owner looking perplexed, "but it cost me sooo much!"

increase your seperation distance by 10x, try not to brake, try not to accelerate, try not to steer too sharply, and you will be fine.

235 width tyres are never going to be be great in snowy/icy conditions. Remember ice racers have some the of skinniest tyres (although with spikes too). Just take it easy....

No sudden or aggresive movements. Meant to be like monday tomorrow.

I'm glad my scirocco hasn't arrived yet, I wouldn't want to risk it in this weather. Not necessarily because of me. More because the number of twats just spinning their wheels like crazy is rediculous  have some sodding car control people.
Some moron in a ford probe almost slid into me this morning from the opposite side of the road. Was quite scary. If I was in my scirocco and he hit me i don't know what i would of done

Probably got out the car to hit him, and would of slipped down the hill myself lol

Still joking about road rage aside, I fail to see what is so difficult about adjusting your driving to snow conditions.

Alot of people just dont get it, they get in their car and its like a cocoon from the outside world, my first car was a Ford Escort, bare bones, no power steering / ABS / anything! It sure taught you how to drive! i think everyone should be forced to run a scrapper when they pass their test, then they might learn somthing!

A*sehole in a Honda CRV overtook me on a country road this morning, and i wasnt crawling, when he want past he was fishtailing like mad, could see him panicing, ..tw*t.

Can't say i'm surprised lol! Common sense isn't really that common anymore!

Agree with you about the scrapper. Though i'd put a flip on it and say they'd have to drive a rediculously overpowered RWD car with no weight over the rear wheels in the snow

If you survive you pass lol!
