Guys

As promised, here are the 2011 model year changes:

All trims
Second ESP lamp in instrument cluster, One lamp for on, one for off. (week 22)

Mobility self-sealing tyres and flat tyre indicator become standard with cars fitted with 17-inch and 18-inch alloy wheels (week 22)

All manual gearboxes gain hill hold function (week 22)

See previous post for information on changes to Scirocco colour line up.

1.4 160PS TSI
TSI badge changes from a red S and I, 'TSI', to a red T, S and I, 'TSI' (week 22)

Scirocco R
Gains space-saving spare wheel instead of tyre repare kit (week 22)

Nothing amazing in there i'm afraid. Will update you with anything further if we are told.

Cheers

Thanks for the info Neil.

My worst nightmare that the spare wheel has been taken. Worst idea to hit car manufactures ever! Will there be an option for a spare wheel instead!
I agree entirely with you. The tub of gunge and an electric airpump in the boot just don't work as and when you do get a puncture, just ask the AA - they're dealing with 2,000 a day in the UK. I desperately hope there will be an option to have a full spare wheel.

I think I read it wrong, as in they will put these new tyres on as standard and keep the spare wheel. Well I hope so!

Cant see them offering a full spare wheel as this will put nearly £500 on the cost of the car and also they would have to make the boot floor pan deeper or lose boot space to accommodate the deeper wheel

Ok, but I just don't want to lose the existing steel space saver spare wheel as an option. These self-sealing tyres are only currently fitted by VW to the Passat CC and that's got a full size alloy spare wheel.

I've just been informed by my dealer today, that folding electric wing mirrors are now standard kit on GT models. He said that when they processed the order (I had specified folding wing mirrors), they got an error message saying that the wing mirrors were now included as standard.
Really? Kool.. I assume thats week 22 onwards then?

I'll be honest, that's news to me. I can't find any bulletin from VW that suggests that and i've just tried to spec amend a stock car that hasn't gone to build yet and it let me add folding mirrors.

I'm not saying that i'm right but I would double check with your dealer in case there was a glitch. The system we use to order vehicles wouldn't display a message such as the mirrors are now standard, it would simply tell you that there was a specification error and we would call Volkswagen to explain.

I hope your dealer is right but as I said, I haven't heard anything.....
